Entry Requirements
YEAR 10 ENTRY
To join us in Year 10, you need to be interested in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). There are no academic entry requirements but you must have a good attitude towards your education and learning.
It’s important that you understand that joining the UTC is not the easy option; you will study a full range of subjects at GCSE, learn technical skills and develop your workplace skills. YEAR 12 ENTRY
To join us in Year 12 you need to be interested in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and we expect you to be motivated and determined to set yourself up for your future. There are two pathways for Sixth Form students:
- Level 3 Pathway (academic and technical focus)
All applicants for Level 3 Pathway, whether transferring internally or applying from outside, will normally need to meet a minimum entry requirement of five GCSE passes at 9-5, including English and Maths. In addition there may be individual entry requirements for each course.
- Level 2 Engineering Technician Programme (1 or 2 year pre-apprenticeship pathway)
All applicants for Level 2 Engineering Technician Programme will normally need to meet a minimum entry requirement of five GCSE passes at 9-2, or equivalent, including English and Maths. You will be able to resit English or Maths GCSEs if you need to.
