Students took different roles; we had a team leader, a spot welder, technical markers, guillotine operators, metal formers, quality engineers and Health and Safety Inspector. They had 40 minutes to manufacture the whole box. Each 'Department' had to work on separate components in order to assemble the whole product to a given specification.
The students gained a lot from the experience, even the teams that didn't complete the task. The most successful groups were 10MP, 10JEC and 10BA, but everyone did well and now understand more about the real world of work from a manufacturing point of view. Well done to everyone that took part.
