The destinations of our students is a huge focus for us here at UTC South Durham. We strive to ensure that every student leaves the UTC with a positive destination. Over the next few weeks we will share with you some of the students who are continuing to gain apprenticeships, get places offered to them for University or gain employment.
Toby Hansom is a Year 13 student who has just been through a rigorous process of application, assessment days, interviews and presentations to gain an apprenticeship at Glaxo Smith Kline. It has been Toby’s dream to gain an apprenticeship with the organisation for many years and with much hard work and persistence he has managed to secure this wonderful opportunity.
Toby worked with the Careers Team here at UTC to ensure he was ready for the testing and interview process. Ensuring his work place skills were the best they could be he was not only academically and technically ready for the opportunity but he made sure his employability skills were the best he could be to be ready for the world of work. Congratulations Toby, another UTC success!
