Biking with KB

Here at UTC South Durham, we are confident that we have one of Motocross’ biggest names of the future in our midst.

Kyle Bennett, who is currently in Year 10 and is studying Engineering, is already a very accomplished Motocross biker, having won Rider of the Year and has previously won 3rd place in the Academy Class of the Norasport Supermoto & Superlite British Championship.

“My passion for this really comes from my step-dad”, Kyle says. “From the age of about 10, I’ve had an interest in helping him tinker about with bikes and engines, so it really all stems from that.”

Kyle’s love for Motocross has taken him all over the country, with the season taking place in Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire, many parts of Scotland, as well as circuits in Wigan and Teeside.

Despite this, it is mountain biking where Kyle sees his future. “I want to use the skills I’ve gained from my Engineering course here at the UTC to fix mountain bikes, as well as ride them.”

Wherever Kyle’s future lies, his drive and enthusiasm for Engineering is clear for everyone to see.
