To learn more about wave length and measuring speed, Year 12 applied science students took part in an exciting practical involving jelly babies, bamboo skewers and tape!

By using duct tape between two clamps and jelly babies on the end of bamboo skewers the students were able to form a model that could help them visualise wave length. By pushing down on one side of the model to create a wave motion, the students could then test speed of the wave depending on the force that was applied to it!
