Engineering Design (Cambridge Nationals)

Here at UTC South Durham our engineering hall is the heart of our building. We have teaching staff and industry professionals leading lessons for our KS4 teaching programme.

Engineering Design is a process used to develop and enhance new products and systems as a response to market opportunities and need.  This qualification allows a real opportunity for students to develop a design specification and to build the skills involved in developing and creating a prototype of an engineered product.  Students will be encouraged to consult with real industry and individual clients, to use practical equipment, computer aided design (CAD) and modelling skills to evaluate and make prototype products across four modules with including specific disciplines.
