Covid Guidance
Covid Guidance
If students have any of the main symptoms of Covid-19 (a recent onset of a new continuous cough; a high temperature; or a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell) they should take a LFT or complete a PCR test. Students are advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people while they wait for the test result.
If a student tests positive, they should continue to stay at home and avoid contact with other people. This includes not attending the UTC. If students feel well enough to work at home then we would welcome them to do so and work will be available on Teams.
If students can, they should let people who they have been in close contact with know about their positive test result.
Students with Covid-19 should not attend their education setting while they are infectious.
All students who are positive should take an LFD test from five days after their symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) followed by another one the next day. If both these tests results are negative, they can return to the UTC, as long as they feel well enough to do so and do not have a temperature. We do still have a good stock of LFT’s so please do ensure your child collects a pack from reception if they need some more.
If students live with someone who has tested positive for covid it is advised to :
minimise contact with the person who has Covid-19
avoid contact with anyone you know who is at
higher risk of becoming severely unwell
if they are infected with Covid-19, especially those with a
severely weakened immune system
limit close contact with other people outside the household, especially in crowded, enclosed or poorly-ventilated spaces
wear a well-fitting
face covering
made with multiple layers or a surgical face mask in crowded, enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces and where they are in close contact with other people
Continue to come to the UTC as normal
Students who live with someone who has Covid-19 should continue to attend the UTC as normal.
