What is Engineering?

Engineering is the application of specific scientific knowledge to solve problems in the real world and in particular in industrial settings. The functions of engineering enables people to see things come to life through problem solving, designing and building things and is currently a key area of growth for the economy in the UK.

As a UTC we aim to bridge the existing skills gap and national shortage of young people with the skills to undertake these jobs in these emerging and fast paced industries.
