With a 100% pass rate and half of students achieving a Distinction, UTC South Durham is celebrating an exceptional year for its T Level Engineering students and the opportunities these qualifications can unlock.

This T Level Week, UTC South Durham is celebrating the achievements of its latest T Level Engineering cohort, highlighting how technical education and industry experience can open doors to exciting future careers.

The college’s T Level Engineering students achieved a 100% pass rate, with 50% achieving a Distinction. This means half of the cohort achieved the equivalent of three A grades at A Level, reflecting their hard work, technical ability and dedication throughout their studies.

These results also recognise the commitment of UTC South Durham’s staff and industry partners, who work together to prepare students for life beyond college.

Where could a T Level take you?

At UTC South Durham, a T Level can be the starting point for a future in engineering and beyond. Combining classroom learning with meaningful industry placements, T Levels give students the technical knowledge, practical skills and workplace experience needed to take their next steps with confidence.

Whether progressing into higher education, skilled employment or an apprenticeship, students develop the foundations to pursue a career aligned with their ambitions.

Apprenticeships are an increasingly popular route for students looking to combine professional development with earning a salary. Last year, 45% of the apprenticeships secured by UTC South Durham’s Sixth Form students were at degree level, demonstrating the opportunities available to young people taking their next steps after college.

Through its established industry connections, including partnerships with leading employers, UTC South Durham helps students gain valuable insight into the workplace and access opportunities that support their future career ambitions.
