Careers guidance

Our students future destinations and career aspirations are a priority to us here at the UTC. We work very closely with all of our students on an individual basis to find the right next steps for them.

There are many routes for young people following compulsory education, and not all of these include an academic career at university.

You must then do one of the following until you are 18 years old:

  • Stay in full-time education, for example at a Sixth Form or college
  • Start an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • Spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training
