I’ve been working at UTC as a maths teacher since 2019 and took on the responsibility for the maths department during 2022.  I’ve been a maths teacher since 2008 and have taught all aspects of GCSE Maths, Core Maths, A Level Maths and Further Maths in that time.  I’m passionate about Mathematics and the application of it to engineering and other situations – the deeper you look the more maths you find!

I attended Durham University and achieved a first class honours degree in Mathematics, from there I went onto work with KPMG in the City of London, qualifying as a chartered accountant.  Accountancy life didn’t suit me, and I retrained as a teacher.  I now split my time between teaching and running in the mountains.  I organise several fell races, have been Durham Fell Runners club champion seven times and have twice been North East Fell Running Champion.
