I’ve always been passionate about working with young people. Coming from a family of teachers, it was inevitable that I would follow suit.

I studied at Teesside University, gaining a 2:1 BsC in Sports Science. After which, I had the opportunity to go travelling. I felt this was important to make me a more rounded person. I was fortunate enough to travel a lot of South America, fulfilling lifelong ambitions to visit Boca Juniors football stadium in Buenos Aires or playing football on Copacabana beach in Rio were particular highlights.

After travelling, I felt ready to begin my journey into teaching. I completed my PGCE and qualified as a PE teacher. I started at UTC 7 years ago and have been here to be part of the evolution and progression of our journey, which had been a privilege. My role at UTC allows me to teach PE, but also work in student support with a fantastic team. Our goal is to support and develop every student, in whatever capacity they need. I feel UTC is unique, as the relationships we have with our students are what makes us different.

In my spare time I am happiest being with my family, going out running or cycling, watching my beloved Manchester United or holidaying in Italy or Majorca.
