I am proud to be a member of the UTC’s very first cohort in September 2016 and it is a privilege to now return as a Trustee. I bring with me both professional success and a strong sense of gratitude for the opportunities I received as a student.

My career progression reflects the strength of both the technical and practical education I experienced. After completing my GCSEs, A ‘Levels and valuable work experience, I secured an Apprenticeship through one of UTC’s employer partners, Teescraft Engineering; This proved to be a pivotal step in my professional journey.

The experiences I gained at the UTC, not only built my confidence but also equipped me with the technical knowledge and workplace skills that have supported my rapid advancement in industry.

Throughout my Apprenticeship, I built a strong foundation of knowledge and practical experience, which allowed me to progress into a role as a Quality Technician. After three years, I advanced further into a Quality Engineer position, and in early 2025, at just 23 years old, I was proud to be appointed as Quality Manager. I now have responsibility for Group Operations, and I am part of the Senior Leadership Team here at Teescraft. I continue to draw on the skills I developed at UTC, applying them daily within a demanding and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Outside of work I like the gym and I am a keen rugby player and represent the 1st Team at Bishop Auckland Rugby Club. I am keen to support local projects and, as a trustee, I am passionate about supporting current and future students and ensuring they have access to the same high-quality education and opportunities that helped shape my own journey.

I am committed to helping the next generation realise their potential and succeed in their chosen careers
