Welcome to Engineering!
Engineering (BTEC) provides a broad basis of study for the engineering sector, and is suitable for students applying for apprenticeships or, when combined with A-level courses such as Maths and Physics, further study at university.
Topics covered:
• Mechanical engineering systems and components
• The process of engineering design
• The relevance and role that manufacturing processes and systems have in the production of multiple components.
Entry requirements
- Grade 5 in Maths
- Grade 5 in Physics or Combined Sciences
- A positive attitude to learning evidenced by a school report
We appreciate not all students have the opportunity to study engineering at GCSE therefore do not require it for this course
Assessment
Exam Board: BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate
- 1 x 2 hour exam
- 3 assignments
