Year 10
Personal Development
Crew
Dedicated time, known as Crew, is needed to support students to develop the skills and attributes outlined in the Student Leaver Profile.
Crew time gives students the opportunity to work in groups alongside a member of staff to complete a portfolio of work that demonstrates and evidences how they have met the student leaver profile.
Each Crew works together to reflect on their own learning, allowing them to take responsibility to achieve. Together, they:
- Peer assess one another
- Reflect on their class behaviours
- Develop their student portfolio
- Identify gaps in their skills and development
- Create an action for moving forward
Professional and Career Experiences
Our Professional and Careers Experience lessons (PaCE) bring together personal, professional and career skills development and is delivered in partnership with local, regional and national employers.
Students work side by side with engineers, project managers, designers, HR experts and business owners to develop an understanding of professional life; learn key leadership and employment skills; experience the world of work through projects, work experience and mentoring; and to understand more about our diverse and vibrant communities.
Through PaCE students gain experience working as a leader or as part of team to solve real world problems and be given the chance to impress employers from across the region.
